Santa Barbara Breeds
Innovation
in Every Sector
Santa Barbara isn’t just beautiful. It’s become one of the country’s most concentrated hubs of genuine innovation. Google chose Santa Barbara as the global headquarters for its quantum computing research, and Microsoft joined us with a quantum lab of its own. Top-tier aerospace and space technology firms have expanded their operations along the coast. Infrared and life sciences companies, including our own clients Santa Barbara Infrared and Affinity Biosensors, are doing globally relevant work a few miles from the beach. The renewable energy sector has a strong local footprint as well. Our clients Primergy and Engie are advancing utility-scale solar and clean energy projects that power communities well beyond the Central Coast. Even our adventure and outdoor-focused clients show this range. Adventures Overland leads global expeditions, while Wilderness Youth Project brings that same spirit home through nature mentoring for local kids and families.

National-Caliber Thinking.
Ventech Celebrates Santa Barbara’s Powerhouse Innovation
By any reasonable measure, Santa Barbara shouldn’t be an innovation hub. It’s a small coastal city, not a metro tech hub with a subway system and a hundred accelerators. And yet, year after year, it keeps producing outsized results relative to its size. As someone who chairs Ventech’s marketing committee and sits on its board, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about why. Here’s what I keep coming back to.
More Than a Zip Code for Mambo,
It’s Our Community
Mambo stays closely connected to the people and organizations shaping business, technology, education, and entrepreneurship across the region. Founder and CEO Siouxsie Jennett serves as Marketing Chair for Ventech, lectures in UCSB’s Technology Management program, and supports entrepreneurs through WEV’s League of Extraordinary Women. Beyond the business community, Mambo is proud to support organizations doing vital work closer to home, including Planned Parenthood and La Casa de la Raza, because a healthy Santa Barbara depends on more than a strong economy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mambo a Santa Barbara marketing agency?
Yes. Mambo is based in Santa Barbara and works with established businesses throughout the Central Coast and across the United States. Our local experience includes technology, research-driven organizations, financial and professional services, advanced manufacturing, and other growth-focused industries.
What types of Santa Barbara businesses does Mambo work with?
Mambo is best suited to established organizations that have outgrown fragmented marketing support or need specialized expertise beyond the capacity of a small internal team. Typical clients are growth-focused companies that need marketing to contribute more directly to qualified demand, pipeline, and measurable business results.
Does Mambo only work with companies in Santa Barbara?
No. Santa Barbara is our home and the center of our Central Coast work, but we support clients across the region and throughout the United States. Our model combines local relationships with the experience and capabilities needed to compete in national and global markets.
Can Mambo work alongside our internal marketing team?
Yes. Mambo can strengthen an existing team with senior strategic guidance and specialized expertise in areas such as paid media, SEO, GEO, websites, content, brand strategy, and analytics. We can fill specific capability gaps or coordinate a broader marketing program across channels.
Do we need to hire Mambo for every marketing service?
No. An engagement can begin with a focused need, such as improving paid media performance, strengthening search results, or understanding how your company appears in AI-generated answers. When broader issues affect performance, Mambo can connect those efforts with website, messaging, content, analytics, and conversion strategy.
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO helps your business earn stronger placement in traditional search engine results. Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, helps AI-powered platforms understand, reference, and recommend your company in response to buyer questions. Mambo treats SEO and GEO as connected parts of a modern search strategy.
How does Mambo measure marketing performance?
We focus on business outcomes rather than activity alone. Depending on the engagement, that may include qualified leads, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, cost per opportunity, search performance, and other measures tied to growth.
What is the Modern Marketing Scorecard™?
The Modern Marketing Scorecard™ evaluates your current marketing performance, capabilities, and maturity against established best practices. It helps identify gaps, clarify priorities, and determine which improvements are most likely to strengthen demand generation, efficiency, and growth.
