Mambo Media Wins AMA MAX Award for “Integrated Marketing Campaign Nonprofit & Government”

Jun 19 2012

We are honored and humbled to be named winners at the 2012 MAX Awards. The event was a smashing success with a bounty of culinary treats, local beers and signature cocktails to pair perfectly with some of Portland’s most talented marketers.

The Marketing Awards of Excellence (MAX) honor innovators who think outside of the proverbial box to manage and implement creative integrated marketing campaigns. Mambo Media entered the 2012 MAX awards for the “Integrated Marketing Campaign Nonprofit & Government.” OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and 99.5 The Wolf radio have partnered together for the past decade to raise money for the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in a two-day radiothon called “Hunt for a Cure.”

This was the first year that they decided to integrate social media in the fundraising initiative. Mambo Media worked closely with a cross-departmental team to create a feedback loop to amplify the stories that were shared both on the radio and the social media properties of 99.5 The Wolf and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The two-day “Hunt for a Cure” Radiothon integrated channel strategy resulted in over 1,000 fans sharing Radiothon links with their personal social networks on Facebook, hundreds of meaningful comments encouraging others to give, and resulted in a total of $248,000 raised. We are so grateful to have been part of such a deeply fulfilling campaign, and look forward to next year’s radiothon as the team is now poised to take the campaign to new heights and increase growth in online giving.

We are thankful to the American Marketing Association for working so hard to make the MAX awards such a fantastic event, and we can’t wait until next year!
